Botox and Dysport are FDA-approved injectables that are aesthetically designed to smooth and diminish wrinkles. The most common areas treated are crow’s feet, forehead wrinkles, frown lines, around the eye area and brow lifts. However, other areas are becoming more popular with patients are the lines around the lips, and even underarm sweating. The differences among the neurotoxins vary; product distribution from the injection site, the onset of results and more. Average patient results: 2 to 3 months.
Sweating is a normal process preventing the body from overheating and occurs in response to warm temperatures, nervousness, or exercise. Excessive sweating is an increase in the amount of sweat, usually occurring in the underarms, palms, or feet, while the rest of the body is dry. It occurs for no apparent reason and maybe worse when it is hot or when someone is nervous. The amount of sweat interferes with everyday activities and is a source of embarrassment as it soaks clothing and is visible.
Botox is FDA approved treatment for hyperhidrosis of the underarms. It is a safe and effective treatment that offers quick, dramatic results. To treat excessive sweating, the patient will have tiny amounts of Botox injected over the area of the underarms. The injections temporarily block the chemical in the body that stimulates the sweat glands. Most patients notice results 4-5 days after receiving treatment. Patients will experience reduced sweating the lasts about 6-9 months and sometimes longer. When excessive sweating returns, they can be re-treated.
JUVÉDERM® XC was first approved by the FDA in 2006, JUVÉDERM® XC corrects moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the parentheses lines or ‘smile lines’ around the nose and mouth. JUVÉDERM® XC is injected into areas of facial tissue where moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds occur to temporarily add volume to the skin, which may give the appearance of a smoother surface. JUVÉDERM® XC lasts up to one year with optimal treatment.
JUVÉDERM® ULTRA XC is an injectable gel that temporarily adds more fullness and plumps thin lips—whether your lips have thinned over time or you simply want fuller lips-in adults over the age of 21. JUVÉDERM® ULTRA XC is also approved for smoothing and correcting moderate to severe parentheses lines, such as nasolabial folds (smile lines around the nose and mouth), in adults. JUVÉDERM® ULTRA XC lasts up to one year, with optimal correction.
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC is designed to add volume beneath the skin’s surface to lift and contour the cheek area. Average patient results: 2 years.*
Juvéderm® VOLBELLA® with Lidocaine is the latest advancement in the Juvéderm® range of facial fillers, developed specifically for your lips and mouth area. It has been specifically developed as a smooth gel to give a soft, natural feel.
